Our visit
On a sunny afternoon, K and I visited the Rosé Garden, a charming oasis tucked within Amsterdam's iconic Pulitzer Hotel. We arrived just before lunchtime, and with the summer heat, it was the perfect escape from the bustling city.
Upon entering The Rosé Garden, we were captivated by the tranquil atmosphere. The lush greenery and beautifully arranged seating areas create a refreshing retreat right in the heart of the city. The garden’s design harmoniously blends classic and contemporary elements, with comfortable seating and tasteful décor that encourages relaxation.
The concept
The Rosé Garden is a terrace inside the Pulitzer Hotel, where guests can savor a glass of rosé wine surrounded by lush greenery. It’s a serene garden that combines the sophistication of the Pulitzer with the laid-back charm of an outdoor garden. Picture yourself indulging in summery dishes while enjoying the picturesque surroundings and a glass of Rosé Garden Spritz or a classic rosé wine from Rioja in your hands. It's the perfect spot to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and immerse yourself in an oasis of calm, right in the heart of Amsterdam.
The food
Dishes come from the Pulitzer Hotel's Jansz, a restaurant offering modern Dutch cuisine (read our visit here). For starters, we enjoyed the crunchy shrimp croquettes, a plate of fresh oysters and a classic carpaccio with piccallili, each bite full of flavor and texture. For our mains, we opted for the beautifully seared dry aged fillet mignon and a summery North sea crab toast.
Why you must visit the Rosé Garden
• The ambiance carries the sophisticated yet welcoming vibe of the Pulitzer Hotel, making you feel as though you are in a secluded sanctuary while still being in the middle of Amsterdam.
• Whether you're spending a leisurely afternoon with friends or enjoying a romantic summer's evening under the stars, the setting encourages you to slow down and is wonderful for conversations.
• The shrimp croquettes are an absolute standout and we also loved the Rosé Garden Spritz.
